Biking and Walking
in Schenley Park

Schenley Park offers miles of roads and trails for cycling and walking.  They include broad traffic-free multi-use paths, walking trails, and low-traffic park roads.  They are good for recreation within the park, and they also have rich connectivity to roads, sidewalks and bicycle infrastructure outside the park.

The Bicycle-Pedestrian Committee of Friends of Schenley Park advocates for the development and maintenance of park-appropriate trails and roads, especially for connectivity that allows park users to find their own favorite routes in and around the park.

Pittsburgh has allocated substantial funds for improving bicycle and pedestrian safety and connectivity through Schenley Park. This recognizes Schenley Park's role in commuting as well as recreation. This project is in the early planning stage and Friends of Schenley Park has an opportunity to participate in project planning.
